She was predeceased by: her parents, E. Clay Pitts and Fannie Setzer Pitts; her husband Wayne Sherrill; and her sibling Mary-White Pitts Whisnant. She is survived by: her children, Bill Sherrill (Becky), James Sherrill (Kim), Mary Theresa Sherrill-Benfield (Martin) and Paul Sherrill; her grandchildren, Clay Sherrill (Jordan), Mac Sherrill (Brooke), Emery Sherrill and Jake Benfield; and her great grandchildren, Bodhi and Ken Sherrill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 face masks and social distancing will be required.
In lieu of flowers the family invites donations to either of the following organizations, both which have provided Wanita with tremendous love and support: St. John's Lutheran Church, 352 Central Street, Hudson, NC 28638, or Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
