With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Smith Carlton Brown of Hudson, North Carolina, who passed away on January 11, 2022 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smith and Gladys Richards Brown; his grandson Daniel Lee Shomate; and his brother Jessie Boyd Brown. He is survived by: his children, Sheila Shomate (Rick) of Lenoir, Carolyn Lail (Gary) of Lenoir, Lisa Hamby (Robin) of Radford, VA and Steve Dyer of Hudson; and his siblings, Eddie Brown (Diane) of Boone and Dorothy "Molly" Brown (RG Absher) of Taylorsville. He is also survived by grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
