He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson Simmons and Effie Greene Simmons; his wife Joan Sisneros Simmons; and his siblings, Zelma Greene (Susie), Mamie Faw, Ed Simmons, Raymond Simmons, Maude Simmons, Dallas Simmons, Pauline Simmons, Ina Mae Brothers, Willis Blackburn, James Simmons, Carl Simmons and Fred Simmons.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Simmons of Snellville, GA, Frank Simmons (Sherry) of Vale and Lori Haight (Rick) of Lincolnton; his daughter-in-law Kelly Johnson of Clayton; his grandchildren, Kenny Haight of Lincolnton, Olivia Simmons of Bay City, TX, Matthew Haight of Lincolnton and Ricky Haight of Kentucky; and his girlfriend Doris Riley of Lenoir.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Union Grove Baptist Church (1808 Union Grove Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645).
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to AMOREM Hospice at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
