He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clyde and Naomi Houser Benfield. He is survived by: his wife Leslie Hunter Benfield; and his children, Dennis Allen Benfield Jr. (Erika) of Fredericksburg, TX, Christopher Scott Benfield (Christy) of Hickory, Lindsay Caroline Drunasky (Nick) of Woodbridge, VA and Keriann Hunter Uesugi (Aaron) of Columbia, MD. He is also survived by grandchildren.
