With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billy Joe Settlemyre of Hudson, North Carolina, who passed away on February 17, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Settlemyre and Fushia Canipe Settlemyre; his wife Gail Parham Settlemyre; and his brothers, Mallie Settlemyre and Larry Settlemyre.

He is survived by: his children, Toby Settlemyre White (Ben) of Littleton, NC, Tonya Settlemyre McDaniel (W. L.) of Lenoir, NC, Billy Dwayne Settlemyre (Angelia) of Shallotte, NC and Regina Settlemyre Greenough (John) of Wallace, NC; his grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Hollander (Bryan), Emily Suzanne Hunsinger (Benjamin), Taylor Haynes McDaniel (Mandy), Ethan Lee McDaniel (Heather), John Turner Greenough III (Candice), Kyndall Morgan Greenough, Matthew Joe Greenough (Kayla), Nicholas Chase Settlemyre and Brandon Cole Settlemyre; his great grandchildren, Max, Leo, Lucy Hollander, Gabe, Maddox, Sully Grey McDaniel, Paislyn, Camden Greenough and Kayden Greenough; and his sisters, Earlene Settlemyre Bryant (Johnny) and Patty Settlemyre Cinto.
