He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harty and Annie Hart Harty; and his siblings, Mary Toupin, Theresa McGirr, Gertrude McGirr, Anna McMahon, Joseph and James Harty.
He is survived by: his children, Irene Hempel and Thomas Harty; and his grandchildren, Thomas Cohn, Daniel Cohn, Gina Thomas, Thomas Harty, Nicole Harty and Nicholas Harty. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.
