She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvie E Forbes and Essie Carter Forbes; her husband GySgt Charles (Retired); her granddaughter Cailey Grace McKinney; and her daughter-in-law Cathy H Dowdy.
She is survived by: her former husband Charles R Dowdy; her sons, Charles (Ray) of Harlem, GA, Greg (Marsha) of Princeton, MA and Richard (Elaine) of Chapel Hill, NC.; and her grandchildren, Christle McKinney, Carmen Urish, Danielle Scott, Kellie Clinton, Lauren Granger, Charles Dowdy (Chip), Richard Dowdy (RD) and Andrew Dowdy. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
