He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett O. Elder and Cbell Stroud Elder. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Mattocks Elder of Highlands, NC.; his children, Phillip R. Elder, Jr. (Therese) of Cumming, GA and Jennifer Elder Ramos (Mike) of Phenix City, AL.; his grandchildren, Luke Ramos of Highlands, NC, Nicea-Paule, Imme-Brok Elder of Cumming, GA, Phillip R Vann Elder III of Cumming, GA and Cash Kelly of Phenix City, AL.; his brothers, Ken Elder (Marilyn) of Jacksonville, FL, Larry Elder (Susan) of Asheville, NC and Donny Elder (Carolyn) of Kingsley Lake, FL.; and his brother-in-law Louie Mattocks III.
