He was predeceased by: his parent Lawton P.; and his siblings, Barbara J. Taylor and Tom James. He is survived by: his parent Irene Picklesimer James; his wife Barbara Calloway James; his children, Leigh Ivy (Brandon) of Valrico, FL, Cindy Reed (Morris) of Highlands, NC, Melanie Carter (Jeff) of Elizabeth City, NC, Allan James (Pam) of Thomasville, GA and Jeff James (Mary) of Franklin, NC; his grandchildren, Jackie Petrone (Vince), Allan James II (Jessica), Megan James (Laura), Jessica Carter, Jason Coggins and Ryan Coggins; and his sisters, Wilma J. Gordon and Geraldine Crowe (Wayne).
