She was predeceased by: her father Fred Owens; her husband John Clifford Dendy; and her siblings, Verlon, Odell, Conley, Onville, Neville, Oscar Owens and Vera Southard Wurst.

She is survived by: her children, Linda Dendy McCall of Highlands, Larry Dendy (Sherry) of Ayden, NC and Myrtice Dendy Trent (Glenn) of Zirconia, NC.; her grandchildren, Timothy Shirley of Franklin, Heather Greer (Chip) of Winston-Salem, NC and Eric Dendy (Hai Yan) of Charlottesville, VA.; her great grandchildren, Avery, Adrianna and Elijah; and her sister Lilly Tomlin of Graham, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
