It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Thelma Deatherage of Hayesville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 3, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Garcia and Jessica Crawford Garcia; and her brother Danny Fields. She is survived by: her close friend Jerry Nichols; her children, Gary Nichols, Joseph Deatherage and Monica Fitts; and her siblings, Nicki Hrones (Susan), Pete Hrones and Stella Hrones. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
