It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Lee Patton Hall of Hayesville, North Carolina, who passed away on March 10, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Holt Kirkpatrick and Annie Mae Jones Patton; her husband Ernest Reid Hall, Sr.; and her sons, Gregory Michael Hall, Alan Lynwood Hall and Anthony Reid Hall.
She is survived by: her siblings, Zeb, Andrew, John, Lawrence, Richard, Burgess Patton, Willette Hooper and Jenny Lou Long; her children, Suzanne H. Moore of Hiawassee, Georgia, Elizabeth H. Dayton (Mitchell) of Hiawassee, Georgia, Charles J. Hall (Jackie) of Lillian and Timothy L. Hall (Caroline) of Avondale Estates, Georgia; her stepson Ernest R. Hall, Jr. (Wanda) of Wedowee, Alabama; her grandchildren, Casey Hall (Janice), Craig Hall (Mary Beth), Tyler Hall (Shayley), Erin Hall and Chloe Hall; her great grandchildren, Carey, Kory and Emma Hall; and her pets, Oscar and Izzy.
She lived through the Great Depression, World War II, the building of Lake Chatuge, the Civil Rights Movement, drastic technological advancements such as computers, cell phones and the internet, 9/11, and COVID-19.
