He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Arthur and Ruth Hedden Stewart; his daughter Michelle Stewart Ledford; his daughter-in-law Cheryl Stewart; his sons, John Dale Stewart, Jr. (Tracie) of Greenville and Thomas Walter Stewart of Hayesville; his grandchildren, Nicholas Craig Ledford (Anissa) of Hiawassee, Candice Blakeslee of Lakeland and Tabitha Brook Moore of Hiawassee, Georgia.; and his cousin Jean Sparks Twiggs.
