He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Helen Sloan and Theodore Sloan; his wife Eileen Sloan; his former wife Gayle; his children, Donna Gayle Lester (Elvis), Pamela Beth Sudul of Brandon, FL and Donald Sloan Jr. (Gretchen) of Acworth, GA; his stepdaughters, Sherri Condron (Martin) and Angela Hardy-Jones; and also Shawn Hardy. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to New Life Church, P.O.Box 742, Hayesville, NC 28904 to be used for a mission trip to Ghana or to the Gideons International, P. O. Box 164, Murphy, NC 28906.
