He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mothers, Nola West Dyer and Frances Hedden Dyer; his siblings, Geneva Worley, Lorene Monkus, Bessie Ashe, Carl, Willard and Johnny Dyer; his children, Clark "Eddie" Dyer of Hayesville and Sonja Silvers (Larry) of Hayesville; his sisters, Frances Anderson of Dalton, Nancy Hedden of Dalton, Mildred Wood of Murphy and Delores Gutherie of Murphy; and his grandchildren, Missy Johnson (Brad), Mandy Lowe (Matthew), Melody Morgan (Michael) and A. J. Silvers (Christine). He was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren.
