He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Ashe and Edna Gregory Ashe; his brothers, Jimmy Ashe and Joe Ashe; and his nephew Bobby Ashe.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Cabe Ashe; his brother Ed Ashe (Brenda); his sister-in-law Becky Cutshaw; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Julie, Emma Ashe, Hannah, Moriah, Sofia Miller, Jordan Ashe (LeeAnn), Joseph Miller (Joelee) and Andrew Miller (Keith Holcomb).
