He was predeceased by: his wife Nell Owens of Warrior; his parents, Jonathan Clarence and Anne Hannah Kroeck Armstrong; and his siblings, Mariam Walter and Robert K. Armstrong.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Ellan Bethia Otero (Raul) of Tampa, Amanda Leigh Morrison of Jacksonville, Rebecca Jean Riska (Steve) of Jacksonville, Florida, John Alan Armstrong of Hayesville and Samuel Eugene Armstrong (Lori) of Jacksonville, Florida; and his grandchildren, David Otero, Lydia Mauritson, Devin Brandes, Matthew Prinzi, Haley Riska and Jacob Riska. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
