He is survived by: his wife Regina Yopp Carter; his stepchildren, Valerie Atkinson of Hampstead and Weston Atkinson of Hampstead; his brother Tommy Carter (Judy) of Scotts Hill; his niece Courtney Kaefer; his nephew Jim Carter; and his mother-in-law Lola Thompson Yopp of Sneads Ferry. He is also survived by two step-brothers and one step sister.
