He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry and Lucy Moore Rasberry; and his siblings, Martha Rasberry Grady and Charlie James Rasberry. He is survived by: his wife Doris Spurrier Rasberry; his daughter Barbara Rasberry Lehman (Wade); his grandchildren, Walter Carl Lehman (April) and Lindsay Grace Jenkins (Sam); and his great grandchildren, Nathaniel Peyton and Owyn Alexander Lehman.

In the spring of 2017, the library honored him for his donation of a large collection of classic book titles.
