She was predeceased by: her parents, Les Coward and Mary Ann Buck Coward; her husband Arthur Lasal; her son John Curtis Phillips, Jr.; and her brothers, James, Willie and Henry Coward.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marcia Sanders (Paul) of Goldsboro and Sandra Phillips Moore (Don) of Grifton; and her brother Melvin Coward (Dorothy) of Stokestown. She is also survived by five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
