It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Sylvester Bland (Greenville, North Carolina), who passed away on December 7, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cherry Lee Barnes (Cherrie) and Harry A. Bland; his grandparents, Jessie Sylvester Barnes and Annie Shepard of Greenville, N. C.; his great-grandparents, James Barnes and Cherry Pender; his great-great-grandparents, Barry Freeman and Charlotte Pender of Edgecombe, N. C.; his godmother Loretta Foster; his wife Mary Bland; and his children, Mary Ann Ward, Melvin Bland, Michael "Mike" Bland, Kisha Wiggins, Aaron Jenkins and LaKesha Jenkins. He was also cherished by GOD children, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
