It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lonnie Askew Jr. (Greenville, North Carolina), who passed away on October 20, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lonnie Lee Askew, Sr. and Judith Eason Askew; his wife Denise Whitaker; his son Whitaker; his daughter-in-law Haley; his granddaughters, Mary Chandler and Leighton; his mother-in-law Janice Whitaker Turnage; and his brothers, Keith, Paul and John.
