He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Melvin Bearden and Eula Chastain (McDilda); his brother Paul Thormer Chastain, Sr.; his wife Rosalie Biddix Chastain; his son David Michael; his daughter-in-law Betty; his son Paul Keith; his granddaughters, Amanda (Scott), Jennifer, Meagan and Ashlie; his great grandchildren, Sydney, Parker, Troy, Caden, Eli, Trey, Olivia and Sterling; and also Jayna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Major Jack Chastain's name to The Salvation Army in Kinston, North Carolina.
