He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Hocutt Ramsdell. He is survived by: his children, Charles Michael Ramsdell, II (Kimberly Glass Ramsdell) of Cary and Jennifer Ramsdell Thomas (James Elvey Thomas, III); and his grandchildren, Lydia Dickinson Ramsdell, Michael Harrison Ramsdell of Apex, James Elvey Thomas, IV and Charlie Elaine Thomas of Raleigh.
