He was predeceased by: his parents, John Young and Willie Young; his wife Bobbi; and his siblings, Gracie Weatherman, John Ray Young and Helen Shively.

He is survived by: his sons, James Young (Bobbie) and Mike Young (Beth); and his siblings, Lynda Howlett and Merrilee Massey of Eden, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Holy Angels in Belmont NC and to VIA Health Partners (Hospice), whose outstanding support was greatly appreciated by the family.
