She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest T. Moody, Sr. and Edith Garner Moody; her grandmother Odessa Garner; her siblings, Ernest T. Moody, Jr., Gloria Faye Moody-Robinson and Arthur Pernell; and her father-in-law Marion Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Leon A. Carter; her sons, Travis Moody (Stephanie) of Murfreesboro, Timothy Moody (Marcia) of Garysburg, Tavern Carter (KeKe) of Mississippi, Terryl Carter of Rocky Mount, Tercell Carter (Ashley) of Weldon and Terrill Carter of Roanoke Rapids; her siblings, Johnny Earl Moody (Tanangela) of Garysburg and Linda Robinson of Gaston; her mother-in-law Edith Carter of Enfield; her siblings-in-law, Cheryl Moody of Roanoke Rapids, Barbara Harvey (Charles) of Roanoke Rapids, Melvin Robinson of Gaston, Carner Carter (Brenda) of Rocky Mount, John Carter of Raleigh, Dennis Carter (Wanda) of Whitakers, Melvin Carter (Jeanette) of Enfield and Robert Carter (Cassandra) of Roanoke Rapids; her nieces, Keisha Jenkins of Roanoke Rapids and Tiffany Moody of Garysburg; her sister Deborah James; and her close friends, Betty Burgess and Rosa Mae Gilchrist. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; four aunts.
