He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie James Johnson and Rosa Belle Boyette Johnson; his wife Elizabeth Johnson; his son Willie "Will" James Johnson Jr.; and his brothers, Floyd Johnson, Marshall Johnson, George Johnson and Sherman Johnson.
He is survived by: his brother Roland Johnson of Clinton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
