It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Inez Johnson of Garland, North Carolina, who passed away on February 18, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Haywood and Elzora West Evans; her husband Thurman Alton Johnson; and her siblings, LaRue Pate, Evelyn Coble, Dennis Evans and Milton Evans.
She is survived by: her children, Thurman Evans Johnson (Julie), Anthony Lynn Johnson (Mary Anne), Brenda Sims McKinney (Don) and Amanda E. Johnson; her grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Daniel Johnson (Shannon), Caleb Johnson (Hailey), Gabrielle Johnson (Taylor), Bryan Hunter Stanton and Erin Clarkson (Matthew); and her siblings, Joann Evans Herring, Sandra Stuckey and Michael Evans. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
