He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Edward Wooten and Addie Penny Langley Wooten; his wife Myra Gainey of Virginia; his siblings, Roland (Elizabeth "Doll) and Etta Wilson Harrell (Johnnie Harrell); his niece Elizabeth Meier; his nephews, Bennie Harrell and Paul Baker; and his great-niece Kathy Harrell.
He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Brown Buck (Kenneth Michael Buck) of Winterville; his grandchildren, Edward Lee Buck (Shelli) of Clayton, Cheryl Buck DeSousa (Pete) of Greenville and K. M. Buck (Jocelyn) of Raleigh; his great grandchildren, Emily McAllister, Claire McAllister, Joshua McAllister of Greenville, Montgomery Fields, Cullen Fields of Clayton and Quinn Buck of Raleigh; and his nieces and nephews, Barbara Tarpe of California, Fayette Baker of Greensboro, Gwendolyn Mullen of Engelhard, Peggy Jean Harrell of Winterville, Sharyn Hille of Durham, Bill Braxton of Greenville and Tim Braxton of Greenville.
