She was predeceased by: her parents, Pete Gillespie and Lena Gillespie; her husband Eugene Powell; her siblings, Charles Gillespie and Shirley Carpenter; and her son-in-law Steve Abbey.
She is survived by: her friend Rita; her children, Deborah Toney (Dale), Sandie Powell Abbey and Samuel Eugene Powell (Bonnie); her sister Ann Claytor; and her nephew Tony Claytor. She is also survived by Six Grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren.
