He is survived by: his wife Gwanda Hart Matthews; his sons, Wesley Matthews (Ashley) of Farmville and Kelly Matthews (Ashpley) of Winterville; and his siblings, Brenda Armstrong of Zebulon, Jimmy Matthews (Sherryl) of Farmville and Bobby Matthews (Shirley) of Louisiana.
