He is survived by: his wife Sarah Robinson Johnston; his children, William K. Johnston Jr. of Elizabethtown, Mary McMillian of Elizabethtown and Kelly Ann Simmons of Junction City, KA; and his sister Christine Rogers of Siler City, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
