He was predeceased by: his parents, Kerney Merritt and Maude Ruth Merritt; and his sisters, Betty Smith and Joyce Mote. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Merritt; his daughter Stacy Boykin (Woody); his brother Kenneth Merritt (Sheila) of Elizabethtown; his brother-in-law Rodger Joyce (Jill) of Mt. Pleasant; his sisters, Jackie Robinson (Dillard) of Siler City and Elnora Langley (Johnny) of Staley, NC; his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Craven of Sumter, SC and Shelly Joyce of Bear Creek, NC; his great-niece Kennedy; and his great-nephews, Kaison and Greylen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Masks are recommended for all attendees.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity UMC General Fund or Elizabethtown Christian Academy.
