He was predeceased by: his parent Henry C. Lyda; and his brothers, C. D. Lyda and Terry Lyda. He is survived by: his parent Clara Mae Ruff Lyda; his daughter Carolyn Sue Lyda Noblitt (Richard) of Edneyville; his granddaughter Amanda Noblitt; and his brothers, Larry Lyda (Jeanette) and Philip Lyda. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barnwell Baptist Church.
