With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Elizabeth Brinkley Loftis of Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on May 22, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Brinkley and Lottie Coley Brinkley; her husband Carlton Shuler Loftis; her daughter Lesley Loftis Weaver; and her brother Sim Coley Brinkley.
She is survived by: her son Christopher Brinkley Loftis; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Weaver Dehmer (Jeff) and William Loftis Weaver (Michelle); her great grandchildren, Joseph Cooper Dehmer, Anna Grace Dehmer and Cole Marval Weaver; and her sisters, Hazel Staples and Jewel Tharrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Planned Parenthood South Atlantic.
