It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Monk Godwin (Dunn, North Carolina), who passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Enoch E. Godwin and Flora Monk Godwin. He is survived by: his wife Jean Raynor Godwin of Benson; his children, Mark Godwin (Sandy) of Fayetteville, Elaine Butler (Jimmy) of Benson, Chris Godwin (Julio Peredo) of Benson and Cecelia Banks (Doug) of Benson; his granddaughter Kimberly Conrad (Chris) of Raleigh; and his children, Emily Butler (Allison) of Cary, Nicholas Banks (Lauren) of Raleigh, Brandon Godwin of Troy, Michigan, Sarah Butler of Garner, Meredith Banks of Warren, Michigan and Allison Banks of Garner.
