It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bessie Estalene Wells (Dunn, North Carolina), born in Burgaw, North Carolina, who passed away on August 19, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Curtis L. Blanton, Effie Cora Murray Blanton, Daniel Morgan Wells and Bessie Rivenbark Wells; her parents, Pender Wells and Cora Lee Blanton Wells; her siblings, Addie Wells Liss, Samuel H. Wells and Daniel B. Wells; and her siblings-in-law, Stanley Rivenbark, Sandra Wells and Linda C. Wells.
She is survived by: her children, Don A. Wells (Jeanne) of Rochester, NY, Joy W. Edwards (Gerald) of Benson, NC, Lynne W. Hackney (Glenn Jr.) of Benson, NC and Kay W. Roberts of Scott Depot, WV; her grandchildren, Joy E. Brewington, Jonathan W. Edwards, Jeremy M. Edwards, Jason A. Wells, Chris A. Wells, Jim E. Wells, Louise D. Genetti and Emerson N. Roberts; her siblings, Virginia Wells Rivenbark, Otho S. Wells and Nathaniel H. Wells; and her siblings-in-law, Ted A. Liss and Lois Wells. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
