It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Oliver Burgess Jr. of Dallas, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on October 16, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Burgess and Hazel Currie; and his brothers, David, Donnie and Ronald Burgess.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Elizabeth Burgess (Greg Wiemann) of Iowa; his grandchildren, Victoria Jane Kornegay of Rock Hill, SC and Jason Alexander McConnell of Brunswick Co, NC; his great grandchild Jaxon Alexander of Brunswick Co, NC; and his sister Sheree Hall (Willie).
