He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Smith and Dicie Huggins Smith; his children, Roger William Smith and Pamela Smith Grooms; his brother Leonard C Smith; his wife Rachel Moore Smith; his son Steven Smith; his grandchildren, Kathrine Sams (Johnny) of Linwood, Katie Diane Steil (Gabe) of Belmont and Christopher Grooms of Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Rachel, Adalynne and Charles; and his siblings, Carol Koontz, Madeline Davis (Thales), Doug Smith (Patricia) and Danny Smith (Carmen).
