He was predeceased by: his father Manders Manuel Curtis; his former wife Elvy Curtis; his daughter Joyce Black; his grandson Chad Black; his son-in-law Billy Morton; and his siblings, Ray, Junior, Keith, Claude, Lucy and Bernice.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Gates; his children, Charles Howard Curtis, Jr., Jimmy Wayne Curtis, Sr. (Tammy) and Cathy Osborne (Michael); and his sisters, Doris Worthey and Judy Hall. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
