He was predeceased by: his mother Mamie Elizabeth Thigpen; and his sister Flora Thigpen Shaw. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Thigpen; his children, David, Nathan Thigpen and Raven Thigpen; his brother James Thigpen; and his granddaughters, Davielle Thigpen and Shadelle Lynch. He is also survived by four great-granddaughters; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
