It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Garner Hockaday (Creedmoor, North Carolina), born in Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Eli Garner and Sallie Cates; and her siblings, Sherri Garner Treece, Marsha Garner, Kay Lewis and Charlie Garner.
She is survived by: her husband Reuben Ivan Hockaday; her children, Bonnie Melissa Hockaday Frederick (Robert D.) of Christiansburg, Reuben Ivan Hockaday Jr. of Creedmoor and Randy Lee Hockaday Sr. (Linda) of Creedmoor; her siblings, Mildred "Moochie" Garner Foster of Swansboro, Amanda Garner DesGroseilliers of Garner, Joann Garner Smith of Swansboro, Fay Garner Thomas of Durham and John Garner of Sneads Ferry; and her grandchildren, Amy Michelle Gasiewicz (Chris) of Wake Forest, Kayla Marie Wilcox (Graham) of Santa Fe, NM, Randy Hockaday Jr. (Amanda) of Colorado, Chad Hockaday (Megan), Jared Frederick and Ethan Frederick. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
