He is survived by: his children, Ashley Smith (T. J. Lanford), Jessica McGregor of Claremont, Tiffany Bulanyi (Jordan) of Connelly Springs and Daniel Martin; his parents, David Martin Sr. (Frances) of Hickory and Eileen Martin of Conover; his sisters, Susan Bazemore (Donald) of Eure, NC and Melony Haynes (Mark) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Aiden, Kayleigh, Abigail, Peyton, Taylor, Charlee, Lathan, Liam and Lily; and his nephews, D. J. Bazemore (Lexy) and Michael Sigmon (Jessica).
