Wayne Rainey Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 3, 2021, at the age of 73, Wayne Rainey of Claremont, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Shipman Porter and Ed Singleton. He is survived by: his significant other Elaine Funchess; and his children, Christopher Rainey of Taylorsville, Andrea McKinney, Spruce Pine, Misty Evans of Burnsville, Jessica Hutto of Vanceboro, Krista Rainey of Spruce Pine, Reginald Funchess (Regina) of Salisbury, Katie Funchess of Shelby, Chance Rainey of Spruce Pine, Rebecca Funchess and Claremont. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

All donations may be made to Hospice of Catawba County in honor of Wayne.
