He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Noel Ervin and Annie Elizabeth Waugh Ervin; his wife Ann Parkinson Ervin; his sisters, Marie E. Benfield and Pansy E. Hubbard; his stepdaughter Nell Wagner; and his stepgrandchildren, Shannon Turbeville and Tiffany Leham Wagner.
He is survived by: his close friend Dorothy "Dot" Martin of Stoney Point; his stepchildren, Richard "Ricky" Wagner (Judy) of Goldsboro, John "Jack" Wagner (Arlene) of Catawba and Bonnie Ann Wagner of Kinston; his stepgrandchildren, Angela Wagner O'Daniel (Nick), Heather Wagner Todd (Michael), Jessica Greenwood (Patrick), Daniel Hooks (Sarah), Erin Wagner and Blake Wagner; his nieces, Kay Eggleston (Larry), Debbie Heavner, Pam Sigmon (Ricky) and Paula Tracy Garland; and his nephew Richard Benfield (Judy). He is also survived by Seven Great-Nieces, Three Great- Nephews, Eight Great-Great- Nieces, Three Great-Great-Nephews.
