He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lowe Carpenter; and his children, Roderick Dale Carpenter (Valarie), Rhonda Carpenter (Tony Smalls) of Fredericksburg, VA, Janice Carpenter Leach (Robert) of Charlotte, NC, Rickey Scott Carpenter (Tangee) of Randallstown, MD and Eddie B. Carpenter, Jr.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
