He was predeceased by: his brother Keith Kowalski; and his grandmother Jennie Duell. He is survived by: his parents, Carl Edward Kowalski and Marjorie Jean Duell Kowalski; his wife Lynne Marie Farmer Kowalski; his son Jason Kowalski of Pine Mountain; his siblings, Blake Kowalski of Rochester, NY and Marcal Kowalski-Smith (Patrice Calcagno); his aunt Shirley Duell George; his uncle Ronnie Duell of Rochester, NY; and his siblings-in-law, Lawrence Farmer of California and Lorraine Farmer Young of Gastonia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; and great nieces and one great nephew.
