He was predeceased by: his parents, Seth Putnam and Bessie Montgomery Putnam; and his siblings, Charlie Thomas Putnam, Bob Putnam, Martha Hamrick Brindle and Betty Ledbetter.
He is survived by: his wife Fuchia Allen Putnam; his son Tracy Putnam of Laurinburg; his granddaughter Kristen Hutton (Thomas) of Shelby; his daughter-in-law Brenda Hinson of Gastonia; his siblings, Dan Putnam of Shelby, Boyd Putnam (Barbara) of Boiling Springs and Mary Smith of Shelby; and his stepdaughters, Paula Tallent (Jeff) of Shelby, Tammy Harmon of Shelby and Rebecca Rhinehardt (Shawn) of Shelby. He is also survived by 16 step grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
