She was predeceased by: her parents, Puett Clay and Ruth Abernathy Lawing; her husband John Mack Auten; her daughter Libby Ann Sandbank; and her brothers, Puett Lawing, Jr. and Paul Lawing.
She is survived by: her children, James Richard Auten of Las Vegas, NV and Kathy Jean Auten of Greensboro, NC.; her sister Nelda Ann Wilkinson (Yates) of King, NC.; her grandchildren, Christopher Sandbank (Rosey), Sophia Elizabeth Sandbank, Elizabeth Leigh Minto (Ryan) and Adam Huffine (Natalie); her great grandchildren, John Wesley Minto, Charles Minto, Catherine Minto and Charlotte Minto; and her sister-in-law Joann Lawing.
