She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Spurrier and Hazel Spurrier; her sister Debbie Brandon; her brother-in-law Fred Brandon; and her stepgrandson Tony Worthy Jr..
She is survived by: her sister Linda Schuster (Scott); her nieces and nephews, Chris (Celeste), Scottie, Shelly, Nichole and Shelby; her great grandchildren, Ava, Anjolena and Xavier; and her pet Copper. She is also survived by five step grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ms. Benson's name to First Christian Church.
